Mr. Moore and I are very proud of the success of Highland Park's female students in Computer Science. Our Computer Science classroom creates an environment where students are equally represented in a field where this type of gender equality is far from standard. We have earned the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award because 50% or more of our AP Computer Science students are girls. This year, we have similar participation, and we continue to encourage the growth of women in STEM. We push our students to learn the 21st-century skills necessary for them to be successful in the digital world we now live in. In 2021-2022, Highland Park was one of only 209 schools in the country to receive this distinction. Congratulations to the girls who have invested in themselves and committed to a challenging computer science course.
