I am excited to welcome our Highland Park High School students and families to the 2026–2027 school year! As I begin my third year as principal, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside our dedicated faculty, staff, students, and families.
This year, we will continue to build upon our OWLS values: Openness, Wisdom, Leadership, and Spirit of Service! These guide who we are and everything we do. My goal is to ensure that every student has meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, get involved, and feel connected to our school community.
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 8, with Picture Day taking place that day. Back to School Night will be held on September 16, with additional information to follow.
I encourage every student to make the most of the year ahead. Join a club, try out for a team, perform on stage, build something, volunteer, make a new friend, or find another way to contribute to our school community. Some of the best high school memories come from simply getting involved and trying something new.
I also want to remind our students and families of an important change this year. In accordance with P.L. 2025, c. 195, cell phones and other internet-enabled devices are prohibited in school, including during passing time, study hall, and lunch. Please review the school’s regulations and student handbook regarding this new law and the expectations and consequences associated with it.
I cannot wait to welcome our students back and see all that they will accomplish this year. Here’s to another great year at HPHS!
